Souls must be harvested and saved!

Matthew 9:37

³⁷ Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;

Jesus told His disciples that the harvest is indeed ripe unto harvest, but the laborers are few.

Who are the Laborers?

The laborers are the preachers or ministers. These are God’s servants, whom He has called according to their respective office designations.

Ephesians 4:11-13

¹¹ And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, ¹² for the equipping of the saints for the Work of ministry, for the ^[a]edifying of the body of Christ, ¹³ till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

The Work of the Laborers Ephesians 4:11-13

1. ¹² for the equipping of the saints for the Work of Ministry
2. for the edifying of the body of Christ, ¹³ till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man,
3. Maturing the saints with wisdom; to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

Summary of the three primary roles of the harvest workers

1. Equipping the saints with the Gospel of Christ—making disciples and baptizing them, Matthew 28:18–20
2. Edifying the Body of Christ; Teaching disciples to obey Christ’s commandments
3. Maturing the saints with wisdom to achieve the fullness of Christ; Acts 14:22)

Soul Harvesting proper started on the Day of Pentecost

Acts 2:41

⁴¹ So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

Teaching and maturing the saints is vital to achieving the fullness of Christ.

Acts 14:22

²² strengthening the disciples’ souls, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that we must enter the kingdom of God through many tribulations.

God is always hiring-

Souls harvesting has always been God’s mission and will always remain, hence a great need for more harvest workers

Mark 4:29

²⁹ But when the grain is ripe, he puts in the sickle at once because the harvest has come.”

We must pray and ask God to send more workers into His harvest field (the World), for the workers are very few compared to the harvest.

Luke 10:2

² He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest.

How should we pray for harvest workers?

We should pray to God to fill the following vacancies in His harvest field specific to Ephesians 4:11–13, notwithstanding omitting the office of the Apostles, which has already been filled and closed. According to the scriptures, the Apostle Paul was the last Apostle of Jesus Christ.

God, the Holy Spirit, must continue the Work of recruiting and calling servants to fill in spiritual offices as follows:

Recruit and hire by faith;

1. Prophets,
2. Evangelists,
3. Pastors
4. Teachers,
